SES Latino Coming Soon - I need data!

Hola! On June 18-19 in hot Miami, Nacho Hernandez will once again lead the pack (and the industry) at SES Latino. The Hispanic / Latino consumers are ready to be sold products and information through their searches online. Have you started targetting them? If not, you are behind the curve and your competition may already be there, so you need to come listen to the best strategies and methods for reaching those consumers via search marketing.

I will be giving the talk on Site Architecture for Search Friendly Sites. This will be in English (as will the whole conference). The fundamentals of Search Engine Optimization do not change based on what language you use on your site; they are a critical part of all website development.

I need to gather some info so please expect a few polls like this in the next few days.

Are We Over Optimizing PPC Campaigns?

I am not sure about the answer to that but I do see a trend in closely monitored and optimized PPC campaigns; that we may not be giving the client what they really want. In the BtoB world clients want leads. If you have a savvy client they will give you a target cost/lead. [If you have a really savvy client they will give you a dollar number as to how much they are willing to spend to get one customer.] Let's say with some close attention to the right keywords, the right bidding strategy and the right landing pages, you exceed the client's expectations and come in with a lower cost/lead than the goal. They should be celebrating right? Not necessarily. Optimizing PPC Campaigns by WebMama.comYou may be really good at PPC management, but they may be willing to spend the extra money, for words (more general words) or tactics (contextual) that don't convert as well, in order to get back to their goal, thus generating more leads. It will dilute the ROI for sure - which drives my WebMama team nuts. There are worst problems to have.

BtoB Magazine Puts into Search Engine Marketing Vendor List

Thank you to BtoB Magazine for listing us with 29 other Search Engine Marketing companies in their 2007 Interactive Marketing Guide. We specialize in B2B marketing so it makes sense for us to be listed with other large SEM companies that have B2B clients as we do.

With all the hype around brand-name companies spending money on video ads and ads on social networking sites, I found it very refreshing to read a few interviews with CMO-level executives from large B2B companies talk about their investment in search:

Jim Davis, CMO, SAS: Search is a strategic component of SAS' overall marketing and branding strategy. ... Over the next 12 months, as we focus on globalization and optimization of our search efforts, we'll be looking to maximize our investment in search.

Juanita James: CCO, Pitney Bowes: We'll increase our spending in this area by healthy, double digit percentages this year.

Thomas Haas, CMO, Siemens: Search works for us and we intend to consolidate, optimize, and expand our investments in search across general interest and btob search properties.

Jocelyne Attal: CMO, Avaya (Monster): SEM is critical to any online business and Monster is no exception. Search is the foundation of Monster's online advertising program and we do not expect to change in the near future.

Thanks to Carol Krol for the article 'Medium draws funds from other Channels' that shows the pie piece is still growing for search. {smile}
