My Recent Blog Comments: Sites and Accessibility
Web 2.0 technologies make websites harder for search engines to 'read' and for the blind to 'hear'. The government challenges (and legally forces) sites to be something that can be 'listened' to. Rob Garner takes up the debate in his latest MediaPost SearchInsider Column. I responded with these comments:
Rob - too true. For many years Matt Bailey, Derrick Wheeler and I have related search-friendly sites to accessible sites. Build your site for the blind and search engines will reward you richly. Build your site for the cool and groovy and search engines may just ignore you. I prefer to read with my eyes closed.
